Grabban: Receives Owls interest

Sky Bet

League One high-flyers Sheffield Wednesday are lining up a bid of around 175,000 for Rotherham striker Lewis Grabban.

The 23-year-old, who only joined in the summer, has been a hit in his short time at Don Valley, bagging 15 goals in 28 appearances.

The Millers have already rejected a bid from League Two leaders Crawley on Thursday, thought to be in the region of 100,000, but their South Yorkshire neighbours have now registered their interest.

The Owls are understood to be preparing an improved bid which could tempt the Millers into selling.

However, Millers chief operating officer Paul Douglas said after the Crawley bid was rejected: "The club is under no pressure to sell any of our players and Lewis is part of our long-term plans for the future success of the club."
