SHE'S the blonde model who has put the smile back on the face of brooding tennis star Bernard Tomic.
Donay Meijer has been turning heads this week in Melbourne as her boyfriend, and Australia's most exciting tennis prospect, has taken to the courts at the Australian Open.
Despite the attention on her, the 21-year-old student says it's all about Tomic.
"I'm happy to just support Bernard in any way I can," she said yesterday.
"I am happy for the focus to be on his tennis."
Ms Meijer has got the brains to match her beauty - the pharmacy student has vowed to shelve her modelling career to support her man.
Her mum Dorothy Meijer, a Gold Coast real estate agent, said she is proud of her talented daughter and happy with her high-profile romance.
"They are a lovely couple and I am happy for them but I don't want to get in trouble by talking about it," she said.
"She's very academic and she was getting a lot of modelling work before she returned to her studies."
Mrs Meijer has met Tomic and described him as "lovely young man".
The pair, who started dating about six months ago after meeting through friends, are the glamour couple at the 2012 Open after Ms Meijer starred on the red carpet in a short black dress at the IMG Players' Party at Crown casino on Sunday night, tournament eve.
She is also a keen tennis player who turned her back on fulltime modelling to concentrate on graduating as a chemist.
Gold Coast model agent Kathy Castens, who looks after Ms Meijer, said: "Her look is very commercial given she has a very sultry feel about her yet oozes girl-next-door great looks.
"There's no doubt at all her modelling career would really take off if she pursued it fulltime but she's stepped back from it for now to pursue her studies.
"We are still working with her and love having her. She is equally good on the catwalk or in front of the camera and all our clients just love her. We could utilise her in any campaign.
"She's got all her priorities in the right place and she's in Melbourne right now to be there for Bernard and won't do anything to take the focus off him."
