Jesus Datolo: Opted to leave Espanyol after finding himself well down the pecking order
Jesus Datolo has had his contract rescinded by Espanyol and is set to sign for Brazilian outfit Internacional before the end of the week.
The Argentine winger chose to leave the Blanc i Blau after being given limited chances in the first team by coach Mauricio Pochettino and making just five appearances this term.
Negotiations were quick as Datolo took advantage of interest from Porto Alegre-based side Internacional to leave European football and pen a three-year contract.
AS report that the former Boca Juniors and Napoli wideman has agreed a deal that will see him receive around ?1 million per season until 2015.
Datolo joined Espanyol on loan in 2010 and then made the move permanent, but failed to impress once he was in Barcelona and struggled to break into the side.
After starting at Banfield in his native Argentina he chose to join Boca and then made the jump to Europe to play for Napoli in 2009, but was then loaned out to Olympiakos.
Espanyol have agreed to let both Datolo and Carlos Kameni leave in January, with the Cameroon goalkeeper expected to announce an agreement to join Malaga before Friday.
