  • Kerr thought she would die in labour
  • "The pain was so intense"
  • Baby Flynn sleeps in her bed

MIRANDA Kerr has revealed she feared dying during her harrowing 27-hour labour with son Flynn.

In an exclusive interview, the supermodel also talks about getting back into shape after childbirth and how she prefers to take her baby to work rather than employing a nanny.

As she and husband Orlando Bloom adjust to parenthood, Kerr said the unbearable pain of birth gave her fresh respect for mothers everywhere.

"I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body," she said about her January labour.

"I was looking down on myself - the pain was so intense.

"I kept thinking, 'how do women do this?'

"But if other women have done this, I can do it too. I was determined."

The labour for 4.5kg Flynn played out without anaesthetic.

Now back to a quarter of her original workload, the Aussie model takes her child to photo shoots and breastfeeds at work rather than getting a nanny.

"We spent every minute together, morning and night, for those weeks before I went back to work," she said.

"He sleeps in our bed every night."
