WE'VE seen marriage proposals hidden in iPhone apps, written in the sky, stretched across blimps and revealed at footy games.

Now we have another creative marriage proposal that will make you sigh.

US man Jim Babb proposed to his girlfriend of a little under two years, Julie, via a lengthy storyboard he drew and hosted on the website juliewillyoumarry.me.

The proposal, along with a video showing Julie's reaction while reading the site, is quickly becoming an internet hit with more than 1500 tweets and 7000 Facebook "likes".

Mr Babb used a graphics tablet to illustrate his time with Julie, including excerpts from his profile on the online dating service where they met and cartoon-like characters to represent the cancer they fought together.

"We met through an online dating algorithm. Our superhero-like origin stories led us to have varying definitions of the word 'yakking'," he wrote.

"My definition of yakking ? to talk at length about trivial or boring topics.

"Julie's definition ? vomiting."

Mr Babb went on to list the things he learned from Julie that have made him a better person, which made Julie laugh and blush in the video.

"The floor is not a valid place for clothes; donuts aren't just for breakfast; surround yourself with people who love you; no matter how you try, tall people will always dance like inflatable noodle-men," he wrote.

The creative effort worked and after reading to the end, Julie said "of course".

"That was so cute," she added.
