Savage: Hoping for permanent deal at AFC Wimbledon
Bas Savage hopes to find out this week whether he has done enough to earn a permanent deal at AFC Wimbledon.
Savage is without a club after leaving Dagenham and Redbridge at the end of last season.
The 29-year-old former Tranmere and Brighton forward has been on trial at the newly-promoted Dons and played 45 minutes of a recent friendly win over Fulham.
AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown is keen to add more fire-power to his squad following the departure of Danny Kedwell to Gillingham, and Savage hopes to hear a decision from Brown this week.
"I know the manager knows what I can do from the past. He's seen me before and it is just a case of showing him I'm still fit, able and ready," Savage told the Surrey Herald.
"It's my first week back training and I mainly got fitness out of it - playing against a team like that [Fulham] you're not likely to get the ball most of the time.
"The gaffer seems cool and the coaching staff seem good and I live locally. The move looks like it fits but you never know in football.
"Hopefully I will find out over the weekend or the early part of next week."
