THIS television is big. Really big. Like a new window installed in your house. And as such the viewing experience is truly immersive.
The largest of Panasonic's full high-definition 3D Neo Plasma televisions is so big it will require at least two people to manoeuvre it into place and get it on to a TV stand. It is 63kg, after all.
When installed, however, the effort will have been worth it.
Its picture quality is fantastic, especially when watching crisp films on Blu-ray discs, and the TV produces very high quality images both in 3D and 2D.
In fact, this Viera TV is one of few 3D sets that does not deliver ghosting when overlapping the two separate images used to deliver the 3D effect.
This not only creates a clearer picture but also gives your eyes a break.
The sound, delivered by three built-in speakers, is also great and you can crank it up loud without noticeable distortion.
Because this is a smart TV, in that it will connect to the internet, it has built-in compatibility with Skype, Yahoo!7 Plus 7 and ABC iView, Facebook, Twitter and Picasa.
It also has wi-fi and DLNA capability, which lets it become part of your home's wireless network with playback in multiple file formats. Three USB ports and an SD card slot also feature.
Sadly, this massive 3D television comes with only one pair of full HD active 3D glasses and a wireless adapter, so buyers will have to invest heavily in more spectacles to bring 3D viewing to the whole family.
If you love to watch TV, have a room big enough for a ginormous screen, and can afford to spend more than $5000 on a set, this is worth checking out.
