Antoine Kombouare: PSG manager still has the full backing of sporting director Leonardo
Paris St Germain sporting director Leonardo claims that PSG manager Antoine Kombouare still has his full backing.
Even prior to the club's shock 1-0 home defeat to struggling Nancy on Sunday there had already been speculation over Kombouare's reign after Leonardo was seen speaking to Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazilian denies that the club are interested in the former Chelsea boss and he has repeated once again that he fully supports Kombouare and that he has every confidence in his ability.
"There has been a lot said about Kombouare but the squad knows what is going on. The situation has never changed and it's not going to," Leonardo told L'Equipe.
Full confidence
"Kombouare has the full confidence of the club and we will continue to work together. He is the coach, nothing has changed.
"We only started that work four months ago and a lot of positive things have already happened. We're improving; it's part of the game."
The sporting director is upset about their recent loss but he believes he is seeing good things from his players.
"It is a defeat and it is not the first," he said. "When you lose at home, it's always a little sad. But that's part of the game and there were some very positive things."
