Single Kim keen on an Aussie handbag

As the Kardashians turn up at Hugo's to launch their handbag range, Ros Reines dares to ask Kim ask about her divorce.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian touched down at Sydney airport this morning and found themselves in the middle of a media frenzy that almost turned violent

CUPCAKES, chips, Tim Tams and chicken nuggets would probably feature on the break-up menu for your average broken-hearted girl.

When you're Kim Kardashian, it's what you binge on between media interviews and a red carpet cocktail party, where the gossip world last night fed voraciously on the new divorcee's every move, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Having denied her 72-day marriage to basketballer Kris Humphries was a "sham" to keep the beast that is the family's reality TV empire satisfied, the 31-year-old got back to the business of keeping up appearances, promoting her sister act range of handbags.

Visibly withdrawn and permanently attached to her phone, texting as she answered questions about the end of her "fairytale", Kim said: "I don't think I'm ready to talk about the details of (the split). It's really hard to go through something like this ... but especially for now, we made a commitment to do this trip months prior to any personal issues going on in our lives and I wanted to honour that."

That confessional is likely to be filmed for the hit E! entertainment series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which first made her famous in 2007 (before an X-rated video leaked, launching her career into the pseudo celebrity stratosphere).

She said her "business as usual" approach just four days after filing divorce papers in a Los Angeles court was her coping mechanism.

"To just dive into work is something that we always do," she said.

In an earlier statement, the "hopeless romantic" admitted she had "wanted a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed into something too soon".

The August 20 nuptials were telecast to a worldwide audience of 10.5 million people, reportedly earning the couple $18 million (a figure disputed by the newly-single star).

"I believed in love and the dream of what I wanted so badly," she said yesterday.

"I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn't get off when now I know I probably should have.

"I got so caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the show that when I probably should have ended my relationship I didn't know how - I didn't want to disappoint a lot of people."

Yesterday she relied on her lioness sister Khloe to attack those who suggested Kim "married for a TV show, not true love".

And Sydney blokes holding a torch for the newly-single celeb take heart - the Kardashian sisters said "never say never" to an Aussie version of their reality spin-off series, which has taken them to Miami and New York.

"We would love it, we love Australia," Kim said.
