Tiger suffers with a 75

Sky Bet

Tiger Woods was left bewildered after slumping to a three-over 75 in the second round of the Masters at Augusta.

The American was threatening to make his mark on the leaderboard after birdies on the first and third to go two under, but he then fell to pieces with a series of errors on the remaining 15 holes.

Five bogeys left him on three over, surviving the cut with only two shots to spare, and he kicked his club away in disgust after finding sand on the par-three 16th.

"I just tried to give everything I had on each and every shot," said Woods.

"I tried to stay focused and put the next shot where I wanted to put it. That wasn't the case most of the time but I was grinding hard.

"I didn't quite have it today with my swing. I just had to hang in there and be patient and unfortunately I played the par threes in three over and the par fives not so good either. If I clean those up I am under par. I was two under through three and I blew that.

"One of the neat things about this tournament is the 10-shot rule so anybody can still win the golf tournament if they make the cut. Guys have won this tournament from five and six back going into the back nine.

"I just need to cut that deficit down a little bit tomorrow, play a good solid round and get off to a quick start on Sunday like I did last year."
