Gotye's hit Somebody That I Used To Know is continuing its world march after topping the US singles chart.

HE may have the No.1 song in the US at the moment, but Gotye isn't happy with Glee's cover of his worldwide hit.

Backstage at his L.A. Nokia Theatre show the Aussie singer/songwriter told Brisbane's Sunday Mail that he wasn't a fan of the Somebody That I Used To Know cover.

"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense," said the 31-year-old.

Gotye added that it sounded "like it's playing to you from a cardboard box."

In a separate interview with the Sunday Herald Sun he went on to say the cover "made it sound dinky and wrong."

Gotye's breakthrough single has been going from strength to strength and after 15 weeks on the US Billboard singles chart it recently reached the top spot, making him the first Aussie to do so in 12 years.
