It's like kissing a peanut: Keidai and the real girl

A Japanese company has invented a digital image that responds to human kisses with smiles and eyelash fluttering.

  • Meet the not so real kissing poster
  • Technology lets you kiss an image that reacts
  • Could be rolled out for advertising and promotions

IF you ever found kissing a pop star on a poster vaguely unsatisfying, researchers in Japan may have found a solution.

They are developing an interactive image of a Japanese girl who puckers up when you get close and blushes when you leave.

It is hoped the technology will have uses in digital signage and on tablets.

Keio University?s Keidai Ogawa said there was real potential to have celebrities license their image for commercial uses.

"I'm a big fan of pop idols, and I have posters in my room," Mr Ogawa said. "It bugged me the posters didn't move at all.

"I think people would be really attracted to a face that gives a kiss as they walk past."

He also hopes to introduce elements like scents from perfumes and shampoos and even sweet nothings like whispers of ?I love you?.
