IT HAS knocked Angry Birds off its perch, sold 50 million copies in just 50 days and made its maker $180 million. But there's one thing that's annoying the players of the massively popular Draw Something, and that's cheating.

The LA Times reports that anonymous online players of the game are spoiling the fun by drawing the actual word that opponents are supposed to guess.

Dan Porter, the chief executive of Draw Something's developer, OMGPOP, told the Times that cheating can be a problem when playing with strangers.

"Most of the writing out comes in random matches, with people you don?t know," he said.

"When you play with your friends there is less reason to write out a word because it defeats the purpose of playing - friendship is not about making things less fun for your friends."

However, the Times reports that players who cheat can't be flagged or blocked. Porter's advice to those who don't want to play with cheats is not to answer and delete the match.

He added: "We log this behaviour which helps us figure out which players are best to match. So people who write out words a lot over time get less matches."
