Anton and Rio Ferdinand: No brotherly love on Sunday

Sky Bet

Rio Ferdinand has handed down a firm warning to his younger brother Anton ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Manchester United and QPR at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils head into the Easter programme with a five-point lead over neighbours City in the title race after seven straight wins.

Rangers, meanwhile, are currently in a relegation dogfight and have not won away from home since November - losing five out of seven, including their last three.

And the 33-year-old centre-back admits family loyalties will truly be split when they face each other on the pitch.

"It will be special if we win," he said. "I can enjoy it if we win. If we lose I go into hiding and don't come out.

"I don't speak to family or anyone for a few days. That is just the way it is.

"This time I don't think they (family) can side with anyone because we both need to win.

"I have blanked family and friends at Upton Park before because we have not got the right result.

"They have been texting to ask where I am and I have just got on the bus and made my way back to Manchester. I don't reply for a couple of days. I get in a sulk sometimes because I want to win."
