What shall we do with an illegal downloader?

Three out of four people believe movie and television piracy is stealing, but do it anyway.

TODAY it's OK to talk like a pirate - but just don't steal the content.

The Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation has launched a national campaign to raise awareness about illegal downloading that coincides with the annual day to celebrating all things for the would-be buccaneer.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day was founded in the US in 1995 after friends John Baur and Mark Summers decided to start talking with lines like "ahoy", "avast" , "aye" and "arr" and partying like pirates.

The IPAF on the other hand hopes to get across the message that piracy is wrong to the 53 per cent of Australians who will at some point unashamedly sail the cyber seas accessing movies and TV shows illegally.

According to the IPAF almost 30 per cent of Australians illegally download buried digital treasure on a regular basis, this is despite 72 per cent say they consider piracy ? movie and TV theft ? to be stealing.
