IT ranks as one of the most disastrous moments in TV history - but this year Australia's Next Top Model's Sarah Murdoch is leaving nothing to chance.
After announcing the wrong winner last year in a communications mishap, Murdoch will be handed the name of this year's winner in an envelope.It's one of many changes host and executive producer Murdoch, Foxtel and new production company Shine Australia have made to the live finale.
The October 25 show will move from Luna Park to the Opera House, voting will close earlier and insiders say there will be an "unprecedented" number of rehearsals.Murdoch, who was left "devastated" after she wrongly declared runner-up Kelsey Martinovich the victor over Amanda Ware, consequently sacked the production company, Granada
Media, despite its six-year association with the show.
FOX8 channel manager Duane Hatherly said Shine's entertainment director Julie Ward - who has produced live TV for Celebrity MasterChef, Australian Idol, Rove and the ARIAs - will take the reins.
"Julie has produced over 80 hours of live 'result' television and will personally oversee the finale," he said.
Top Model is Foxtel's most successful Australian-produced series.
