- Sushi photo fuels iPhone 5 speculation
- Found on Apple engineer's Flickr account
- Data different to iPhone 4 specifications
COULD a plate of sushi reveal the secrets of the iPhone 5?
It certainly seems so.
Speculation is mounting that a photo of a just such a plate may have been taken with an iPhone 5.
The photo was discovered on the Flickr account of Apple software engineer Anton D?Auria by PocketNow and while a photo of a (very pretty) plate of sushi may not be the most exciting thing to hit the web, it?s possible there?s more to this photo than first meets the eye.
The format of the photo claims it was taken with an iPhone 4 however the file extension data doesn?t match up.

The photo data revealed that the photo had been cropped from approximately 8 megapixels down to a 5 megapixel image, meaning the iPhone 4 would not have been capable of taking a photo of that size, PocketNow reported.
The second clue is that the photo data shows the image was taken using a 4.3mm f2.4 lens - while the iPhone 4 has a 3.85mm f2.8 camera lens.
The GPS data reveals that the photo was taken at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, California - the location of Apple?s headquarters.
Mr D?Auria has since set the photo to private, but the image has already gone viral.
It is still possible that the image is a fake ? photo data being relatively easy to manipulate.
And we doubt that an Apple engineer would spend so much time changing photo data unless he had a good reason.
It?s possible that the internet has been the subject of an excellent publicity stunt.
