Sammon: Was on target with Wigan's equaliser against West Ham
Wigan hero Conor Sammon was delighted to open his Latics account against West Ham on Sunday.
The striker, who arrived at the DW Stadium from Kilmarnock in January, came off the bench to grab the equaliser before Charles N'Zogbia added the winner and his second of the clash to seal a 3-2 triumph.
The result keeps the second-bottom Latics' Premier League survival hopes alive, and Sammon was thrilled to have played a role in it on his sixth appearance for the club.
"I have always got a fantastic reception off the fans from when I first signed," Sammon told the club's official website.
" It was very pleasing to get my first goal and it repays the fans for some of the support they have given me since I joined. "
