  • Sheen loaned $10 million by studio
  • Repaid debt out of $1.25m per show wage
  • Kutcher named as Men replacement

CHARLIE Sheen borrowed $10 million from Warner Bros. during his last season on Two and a Half Men, celebrity website TMZ reports.

In Sheen's May 2010 contract for season seven of the hit TV show, studio Warner Bros. was required to pay him $10 million within 10 days of the date he signed. The actor repaid the loan by having $769,230.77 deducted from each pay cheque for the first 13 episodes.

Under the deal, interest on the loan would be deducted from the 14th pay cheque. Sheen received a base pay of $1.25 million per episode, making him one of Hollywood's highest-paid TV stars.

The 45-year-old was fired after the 16th episode of the season in March after a series of well-publicised rants about the show's creator Chuck Lorre. The actor later sued Lorre and the studio for $100 million for terminating his contract.

Ashton Kutcher was confirmed as Sheen's replacement by CBS on Friday, ending months of speculation about the future of the show. Kutcher had previously starred on TV sitcom That '70s Show and reality show Punk'd.

"I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!" Kutcher, 33, said in a statement. Kutcher's salary will be around $1 million per episode, though he may earn much more in profit-sharing, a source told The Wall Street Journal.
