EIGHT seasons with the housewives of Wisteria Lane, and we've seen every twist in the soap opera box - characters coming back from the dead, love triangles, love quadrangles, murder, fake pregnancies, hidden pregnancies and comic misunderstandings over porn web cams - but the writers saved their best for last.
The last episode aired in the US last night and it was an emotional end for Bree Van de Kamp, Lynette Scavo, Gabrielle Solis and Susan Meyer. It won't hit Australian screens for another nine weeks, so if you want to stay pure the don't read any further.
Ten spoilers from the finale
1. Karen McCluskey takes the fall for Bree. Karen confesses to killing Gaby's stepfather after she's called to the witness stand. She does so because of the kindness Bree, Lynette, Gaby and Susan have shown her as she struggles with terminal cancer.
"The thing about neighbourhood, it?s not just a bunch of houses in the same place, it's a community. Lives are connected, people who care about each other. And these wonderful people I live beside, they're my family."

2. Julie goes into labour on the way to Ben and Renee's wedding.
3. Renee is furious to find out that Ben has been arrested and thrown in jail.
4. Tom confesses his feelings for Lynette after a heart-to-heart with Roy.
"[Our problems] were blocking me from seeing how much I love you. I see that now and I need to tell you that because you have to say these things while you still can."
5. Katherine Mayfair returns and offers Lynette a job as CEO of her frozen food company in New York. She accepts, and Lynette and Tom move.
6. Bree and Trip patch things up, get married and move to Kentucky - where Bree pursues a political career.
7. Gaby gets her own TV show - on the home shopping network.
8. Susan leaves Wisteria Lane first - as a grandmother - but the others all follow.

9. Lost members of the gang make one last appearance - including Mary Alice Young, Rex Van De Kamp and Mike Delfino.
