Apparently tomorrow he's also going to steal the mantle of� world's wealthiest rocker from Paul McCartney.

The U2 frontman's wealth will officially surpass that of former Beatle McCartney when Facebook goes public, reports music website NME.

The singer owns a 2.3 percent stake in the company, and with Facebook valued at more than $100 billion that makes Bono's shares worth more than $1.5 billion.

The Irish rocker bought his shares for about $A90 million in 2009 through his private equity company.

McCartney is currently the world's richest rock star with a fortune of �665 million.
