A WANNABE funnyman who was exposed as a fraud has bombed on his return to Australia's Got Talent, being told his original material "sucks a---".

Jordan Paris, 22, appeared on the talent show last month doing a routine about singer Robbie Williams.

At the time, judges Dannii Minogue, Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFaddenpraisedhis performance.

But it quickly emerged, it had been done before. English comedian Lee Mackperformed the gag almost word for word in 2007 on the British stand-up comedy show Live at the Apollo.

Last night, Paris had the chance to redeem himself with an original routine.

But it just wasn't funny.

Paris's routine centred on the controversy that followed his first, embarrassing appearance on the show.

"I just sacked my two writers, 'Copy' and 'Paste'," he said.

"I think we're the smartest country in the world ... it took took the United States 10 years to find bin Laden, but it only took Australia 10 minutes to find out I'm not Lee Mack."

He was then backed by a choir as he sang The joke was on me.

He explained afterwards: "I was really coming back to have fun, take the mickey out of myself."

Responses from the show's judges included:

Brian McFadden: "You just kind of collapsed tonight."

Dannii Minogue: "It was uncomfortable for everyone."

Kyle Sandilands: "My God! Stick to ripping off other people's stuff because your stuff sucks a---."

Twitter users too were quick to judge, with Jordan Paris quickly trending on the microblogging site and initial responses including: "Painful to watch", "cringe worthy" and "definition of crash and burn".

As the call was put out for SMS votes, Paris added: "If you can just text me a few of your jokes too."

But perhaps Paris will have the last laugh after all.

He has fallen head over heels for fellow entrant and opera singer Clara Helms, who also appeared on tonight's show.
