Tenth Star broke his maiden at the third attempt to give Aidan O'Brien back-to-back wins in the Golden Fleece Stakes at Leopardstown.
Facing just two rivals following the defection of Roman General and Shukhov, Joseph O'Brien's mount was always in close attendance between the Jim Bolger-trained pair of Snowflake Dancer and Whip Rule.
The latter took over a furlong and a half out but the Niarchos family-owned 4-9 favourite was travelling menacingly and eased past at the furlong pole, being pushed clear for a four-length triumph.
O'Brien landed this race 12 months ago with Zoffany, who was last seen giving Frankel a major fright in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
