IT'S official. RON Burgundy is back.
The actor who played him in the 2004 hit, Will Ferrell reportedly announced the sequel to the audience of the Conan O'Brien show earlier this morning.
The episode is yet to go to air, but an audience member told TVNewser that Ferrell was in character as Burgundy and that he had struck a deal with Paramount.
A video of the announcement has made it's way to the internet.
"I actually hve an announcement. I want to announce this here to everyone in the Americas. To our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK, including England, that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Erin Burgundy have come to terms on a sequel to anchorman,"� he said.
"There will be a sequel to anchorman."
Ferrell previously dismissed the idea of a sequel because it would be too expensive to reunite the cast.
No detail have been announced as to the plot or whether it will include co-star Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone or Steven Carrell as Brick Tamland
