Lillis: Back at Huddersfield

Sky Bet

Huddersfield have appointed former fans' favourite Mark Lillis as their new academy manager.

Lillis, 51, named in the 2008 'Fans' Favourites' book for his spell as a player between 1977 and 1985, will work with development coach Steve Watson.

Town manager Lee Clark said: "Mark has an excellent reputation in the game, particularly when it comes to working with young players, and has worked at all levels of football - from international level to the Premier League, the Championship and helping to guide Morecambe into the Football League.

"I'm looking forward to working with him, as is Steve Watson and the rest of the coaching team."

Lillis has worked on the coaching staff with the Northern Ireland international squad, Derby, Macclesfield, Morecambe and Stockport and spent six years in the FA Premier League's academy system.
