SHE is being hailed as Australia's next big modelling thing, a "size-14 Elle Macpherson".
This month Vogue magazine declares her the "shape of now".
On a quick trip home, plus-sized star Robyn Lawley is being feted by the fashion industry.
Lawley, 22, starred on the cover of Italian Vogue in July, French Elle in April and shines in a 10-page high fashion spread in the September issue of Australian Vogue.
It is the first time in the magazine's 52-year history that Vogue has featured a plus-sized model, and Lawley is being credited with paving the way for other non-waifish women.
Lawley jetted into Sydney from her home base, New York, this week, and did an exclusive shoot for Herald Sun Weekend with fellow local plus-sized stars Penelope Benson and Fiona Falkiner.
Having almost given up modelling when she failed to shrink to conventional "straight size" dimensions, the 185cm beauty said she was enjoying the spotlight.
Vogue editor Kirstie Clements said Lawley was "super, super special", and believed the industry would sit up and take note of curvier models rather than the conventional sizes six to 10 as a result of her growing fame.
Lawley is a size 14 top and 16 bottom.
While in Australia she will appear for Myer and Big W, which has appointed her the face of its new plus-sized fashion range.
After working the catwalk in Sydney's fashion week, Lawley jets back overseas for parades in Milan, Paris and New York.
She has other high-profile international shoots already in the can, but cannot reveal the details.
