Richards: Has become an integral part of Mancini's plans
Skysports.com understands Micah Richards is set to pen a new long-term contract at Manchester City.
Richards is still tied to the Blues for the foreseeable future, but the club are prepared to reward him with fresh terms.
The 23-year-old has become an integral part of Roberto Mancini's plans and is one of only a handful of players to have survived the Eastlands revolution.
A product of the club's academy system, Richards is closing in on 200 appearances in a City shirt.
There was a suggestion earlier in the summer that talks regarding a new deal were to be put on hold as City carried out business elsewhere.
They have, however, moved quickly to tie the England international down and rule out any threat of a move being made elsewhere.
Richards has always insisted that he would be happy to stick with City and he is now set to back up those claims by committing his future to the club.
