AMY WINEHOUSE has cut short her tour after she was booed by tens of thousands of fans during her opening night performance.
The 27-year-old singer infuriated concert-goers in Serbian capital Belgrade with a disastrous performance in which she appeared too drunk to perform.
Shock video footage shows the troubled singer mumbling her way through parts of songs, stumbling across the stage and, at one point, throwing her microphone to the floor.
Many of the 20,000 fans, who had paid up to$60 to see her in a country with some of the lowest wages in Europe, made their anger clear.
Serbian daily newspaper Blic described Winehouse's Saturday night performance as "the worst in the history of Belgrade".
One fan on Winehouse's official site: "I was there, and it was (a) sad thing to watch. Shame on her management, to allow her on stage in that state. She's not to blame - she needs help."
The singer was said to have been under strict instructions not to drink afterrecently checking out of rehab in London.
Winehouse'smanagement had told hotel staff to remove all alcohol from rooms booked by Winehouseand her entourage for her 12-date tour.
Theyissued an official statement aftershe was forced to cancelled upcoming performances in Istanbul and Athens:
"Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home," the statement said.
"She would like to apologise to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do."
