Spurs fielded a number of first-team regulars in an entertaining friendly at stadium:mk.

Russia striker Pavlyuchenko twice slotted home after being played in by Niko Kranjcar as the Premier League side led 2-0 at the interval, though their League One opponents could have been level at that stage as Jay O'Shea missed a good chance and Sam Baldock hit the post.

But Luke Chadwick curled home a superb 25-yard strike to cut the deficit and Jabo Ibehre touched home Daniel Powell's shot to equalise.

Harry Kane replaced Jermain Defoe and score twice, either side of a stunning 35-yard dipping volley from stand-out performer Kranjcar, while Ibehre added his second and the Dons' third.

An inexperienced West Brom side lost their first ever meeting with Rochdale 3-0.

Ashley Grimes opened the scoring for Dale after six minutes, and they were awarded a penalty on 28 minutes when Albion skipper Steven Reid lunged in on Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, with Gary Jones coolly slotting in to make it 2-0.

Akpa Akpro made it 3-0 in the second-half to kill off any chance of a West Brom comeback to give the League One side a famous pre-season win.

Norwich drew a blank as they continued their preparations for the Barclays Premier League with a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

The promoted Canaries, who had hit 26 goals without reply in their three previous matches against summer cannon fodder, found Championship side Palace a tougher proposition.

And young substitute Nathaniel Pinney secured a win for the hosts when he rounded John Ruddy and slid the ball into an empty net a minute from time.

Blackpool stepped up their Championship preparations with a 2-0 home win over Scottish Premier League Hibernian.

Elliott Grandin volleyed Blackpool ahead from Stephen Crainey's cross, while Hibs lost midfielder Martin Scott to injury in the first half.

Substitute Billy Clarke clinched victory late on after a flowing move from the Tangerines.
