FACEBOOK is replacing the traditional lost pet poster.

Pure bread blue Staffy, Buckie was stolen from her home on Lamrock Ave, Bondi last Tuesday around 3.30pm and her owners, Grace Barnes and Dion Horstmans, have started a social media campaign to find her.

The site, facebook.com/HelpUsFindBuckie currently has over 1400 likes.

CCTV footage from a building site nearby shows a young boy carrying the dog away.

?The social media response has been overwhelming, people are speculating that its one young boy in particular and the phone won?t stop ringing,? Ms Barnes said.

?We wanted to reach as many people as we could. We just want our dog back and this seemed like the most logical avenue.

?The police have said that at this stage they are looking into a possible suspect, the young boy on the CCTV footage, but we still haven?t got any solid confirmation of their identity and we are still out there lobbying.?

When the owner of dumpling canteen Miss Chu, Nahji Chu?s staffy George was dognapped in Kings Cross last year, she also started a social media campaign to find him.

?We printed 4000 posters, went to the police station and shut down the delivery service until George was found,? she said.

?There were 16,000 fans on the Help Find George Facebook page in three days.?

George was found three days later and Buckie is still missing.

Ms Barnes is worried that Buckie is being targeted for a dog fighting ring.

?It?s rumoured to be that a lot of dogs, especially bull terriers that go missing are taken because of their value for fighting and as a pet for resale value,? she said.

?Our dog, being a blue staffy is worth over $2,000.?
