USING your TV as a second screen for your laptop can be quite simple.
The Netgear Push2TV adaptor lets you do this when paired with a laptop that uses Intel's new wireless display capability (WiDi).
The adaptor can wirelessly connect to a computer using a second-generation Intel Core processor and to a high-definition television with an HDMI cable.
Plug in the unit and put a movie or slideshow on your laptop and you can push it to the TV with one click.
This means you can share any media in comfort and you can also use the internet on the biggest screen in the house. Using a laptop keyboard to do this, rather than an alphanumeric remote control, can be a big timesaver.
The adaptor weighs only 180g and is 10.6cm in length, so it can be easily connected to different TVs or taken with you for presentations on the road.
Picture quality is as good as your TV will display, so family photos, home videos and your other content all look amazing. As well, it makes YouTube content look as good as free-to-air offerings.
One caveat, of course, is that any content viewed in such a way will chew your through your internet data plan so you'll need to monitor usage to ensure you don't run up big bills watching HD content.
