"I'D RATHER suck pus out of an abscess."
It probably wasn't the response I was hoping for when I asked Daniel Craig to show me some of the "individual" moves he'd just described using in his latest Bond flick, but it was all I was going to get anyway.
After all, it's not every day you get to encounter ?Bond. James, Bond?, so why not take your chances asking for a little elaboration?
In town to promote Skyfall, the latest installment of the Bond series, the talk of the media green room was how short, sharp and dry Craig had been with reporters during their allocated six-minute encounter.
But it wasn't just mentioning his "moves" that made Craig a little acerbic in his seat.
The 44-year-old decided he'd also rather not discuss his status as "the hottest Bond ever," nor would he be drawn on his attachment to the digits 007 outside his on-screen role.
"No, that would be weird," he said.
However, both his co-stars, Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris more than made up for Craig's sharpness.
The epitome of class, the two "Bond girls" couldn't have been more entertaining or accommodating.
Let's just hope Craig enjoys his red carpet appearance at the State Theatre tonight a little more than he enjoyed the interview process.
