PRISON Break star Dominic Purcell is happy to talk about his 1991 stint on soapie Home and Away - unlike Melissa George.
The Aussie actor flew into Brisbane last night after filming six back-to-back movies.
And he displayed none of the diva-like behaviour demonstrated by George in recent days.
"I'm not going to have a dummy spit like her," he said.
"Just get humble for f...'s sake. See it for what it is.
"It's a tremendous training ground - that's the way I've embraced Home and Away.
"Melissa's remarks were uncalled for and immature."
The California-based actor was the star guest of The Brisbane International Film Festival's opening night sponsor, Audi.
Purcell paid his dues in Australia before his breakthrough role on US drama Prison Break and recently starred alongside Robert De Niro, Clive Owen and Jason Statham in Melbourne-shot thriller The Killer Elite.
He said he was proud of his acting background - Aussie soaps included.
"You've got to do your rounds and Home and Away is a great stepping stone for young actors. Chris Hemsworth is now one of the biggest stars in the world but Home and Away was like his NIDA," he said
"It's a wonderful way to learn about your craft, to get comfortable in front of the camera and get paid for it."
Purcell. who regularly flies home to visit his four children in Sydney, said he would love to make "a great Aussie film".
Last year Purcell shot the poorly-reviewed Bad Karma on the Gold Coast but although he enjoyed the experience "the magic didn't come together".
Purcell said he remained on good terms with his former wife Rebecca Williamson's parents, Sunshine Coast-based playwright David Williamson ("a great Australian institution") and wife Kristin.
