AUSTRALIA'S adopted pop princess Kimbra will cap her year of world domination with a scene-stealing performance at the ARIA Awards on November 29.
The Kiwi-born world traveller, who wrote her debut record Vows in Australia, said she was happy to be claimed as one of ours.
Her artistic citizenship was bolstered by the phenomenal success of Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know, which the pair performed together at last year's awards where it won Single Of The Year.
Kimbra also picked up Best Female Artist, for which she is nominated again this year alongside fellow ARIA Awards performers Missy Higgins and Jess Mauboy.
The 22-year-old entertainer dominated the recent New Zealand Music Awards, picking up five trophies including Album of the Year.
Like Russell Crowe and Keith Urban, Kimbra said she was proud to call Australia home.
"It's a funny one but I find it really flattering, really lovely that Australians like my music and have taken ownership of me," she said.
"Vows was absolutely made here and this has been the birthplace of so much of my musical development."
She has spent the past year chasing the success of Vows - which debuted at No.5 in Australia and No.14 in the US - and Somebody That I Used To Know around the globe.
Back home after performing more than 100 concerts this year since kicking off with the Big Day Out tour in January, she is only now beginning to appreciate her arrival on the world stage, a rare feat for any artist from this part of the planet.
"Vows was me indulging in all the fun things I wanted to do with music," she said. "It was a very personal thing, so it connecting with people around the world was not something I could have expected.
"As for Somebody That I Used To Know, I definitely didn't see that coming."
The singer said she was relishing some down time so she could work on songs for her next album - not to mention planning the big ARIA moment.
She has some competition to deliver the performance of the night, with fellow nominees 360, Hilltop Hoods, The Jezabels, The Temper Trap, Guy Sebastian, Mauboy, Higgins, Hall of Fame inductee Yothu Yindi and Taylor Swift also booked to play.
