Louis Saha: Marked his first start for Tottenham by scoring twice against his former club Newcastle
Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham Hotspur have a 'real player' on their hands providing they can keep recent signing Louis Saha fit.
Saha joined Tottenham on a deal until the end of the season from Everton before the close of the January transfer window and made his debut as a substitute in Monday's 0-0 draw at Liverpool.
He marked his first start for Spurs with a brace in Saturday's 5-0 demolition of his former club Newcastle United and impressed in attack alongside Emmanuel Adebayor.
The 33-year-old has a proven pedigree in the Premier League, but has struggled to play week in, week out in recent seasons due to injury.
Fantastic
However, Redknapp is delighted to have the former Manchester United forward in his squad as Spurs remain in the race for the title.
"I took a chance playing him today," said Redknapp of the Frenchman.
"We took him on a short-term contract and some people looked at it and well...
"I always thought he was a top player. He's got fantastic ability. If he can stay fit, you've got a real player on your hands for nothing.
"It's just a case of keeping him fit because he's a fantastic talent in my opinion."
