AS one audience member at this week's AACTA Awards summed up so succinctly: "Russell Crowe is hot again."
Less than a year after he was snapped looking anything but hunky at a charity event in New Zealand, Crowe stepped out at the AACTA Awards at Sydney Opera House on Tuesday night looking nothing less than the super trim movie star that shot to global fame as General Maximus in Gladiator 12 years ago.
Crowe's new look had many talking well into the night on Tuesday.
And for good reason. Confidential hears the Oscar winner has shed almost 20kg as part of his hardcore fitness regimen (in which he walked four hours, cycled 60km and pumped iron for two hours just this week alone).
Of course every detail of his workouts is documented in all its glory on Crowe's Twitter feed - a tactic he employed (successfully) as a way to stick to his program.
Coincidentally, just a day after newly buff Crowe took the stage at the AACTAs, reports emerge that he is in the running to play Noah (of the Ark fame) in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming biblical epic Noah.
Can anyone say "career comeback"?
