ANGRY Birds is set to meet Star Wars in a new version of the hit game.
The deal with Lucasfilms has just been formally announced at the MIPCOM entertainment market by Andrew Stalbow of Rovio Entertainment.
He gave a sneak preview of the promo trailer, featuring Harrison Ford and Alex Guinness discovering a giant space station with the face of an Angry Bird pig character.
News of the release has already gone viral on the web.
The Angry Birds game, to be released on November 8, is set in the Star Wars universe and features the movies heroes and villains in Angry Bird versions.
Plush toy versions of the characters were shown during Mr Stalbow's keynote presentation.
He said the game for iOS, Android and computers would have the birds facing the pigs in the Star Wars galaxy.
In Angry Birds Star Wars, the title birds will take on the personalities of Star Wars heroes such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo while the evil piggies have the roles of of the likes of Darth Vader and other bad guys.
Toy maker Hasbro will release a range of products, including the plush toys, to go with the game.
