Little more than six weeks into her romance with Robert F Kennedy Jnr's son Conor, whose mother Mary Kennedy committed suicide in May, the country princess has become the subject of cruel speculation about her motives.
Swift's infatuation with the Kennedys reportedly began when she watched a miniseries about their lives last year.
Soon after, according to Hollywood Life, she began collecting Kennedy memorabilia for her Nashville and Beverly Hills homes and poring over the clan?s history.
?I just read a 900-page book called The Kennedy Women,? she told Rolling Stone last year.
The Guardian Express online reports the Swift has ''practically become a Kennedy historian''.
In January, Swift fronted the Sundance Film Festival's screening of Ethel, Rory Kennedy's documentary about her mother (and Conor?s grandmother).
Six months later, Kennedy invited Swift to Fourth of July celebrations at the family compound - where she met Conor.
"She?s a great friend of all of ours,? Rory Kennedy, who is Conor's aunt, said this week.
"She?s awesome, and we love her.?
Others, however, have not been so welcoming. Us Weekly quotes an unnamed source who claims Swift is "obsessed with the Kennedys" and is fulfilling a long-time ''fantasy".
It also said Ted Kennedy Jnr calls her a "Kennedy groupie" behind her back.
Fuelling the "obsession" rumours, the songstress has purchased an oceanfront mansion in the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod.
The 4,400-square-foot home in Hyannis Port was reportedly on the market for some time before Swift snatched it up for $.4.9 million.
The Boston Herald today published an unflattering article on Swift and her beau, alleging the couple crashed a Kennedy wedding and ignored requests to leave.
The wedding was for Kyle Kennedy, the daughter of Victoria Gifford Kennedy and the late Michael Kennedy, who was Robert Jr's brother and is Conor's uncle.
Mrs Gifford Kennedy told the Boston Herald that Swift and Conor were told that they were not welcome at the wedding.
"They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come," she told the paper.
"I responded with a very clear, ?Please do not come.? They came anyway. ... I personally went up to Ms Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me."
Swift's publicist denied Mrs Gifford Kennedy's claim saying that there was "no truth to that" and that "the bride thanked her profusely for being there."
The country superstar was also with the family this week when they visited the grave of Conor's mother Mary, who hanged herself in May amid a battle with depression and addiction.
