X FACTOR star Mel B has denied making diva demands at the London Olympics.

British reports claimed the singer, born Melanie Brown, had a list of ultimatums ahead of her performance with the Spice Girls at the closing ceremony.

Insiders said Brown needed a personal stylist on call. Sources also said she wanted family and friends to get special treatment at the event. Brown denied the report.

Asked to specify the Spice Girls' backstage needs, she said: "It was us five girls and we all had hair and make-up in the dressing room. That was it."

She also dismissed reports Victoria Beckham, looking sour-faced and distant during the performance, didn't want to perform with the superstar girl group.

"If she didn't want to be there, she wouldn't be there,'' Brown said. "Nobody forced anybody to do anything. To some, it doesn't sound good enough to say: 'They're happy and they're best friends'.''

Gold for Games closing ceremony singers

Brown's scene-stealing catsuit was designed by Zuhair Murad, costumer to Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera.

She adds: "It was fancy, outrageous and sexy. I had to do 25 very specific measurements because the actual outfit is see-through mesh and all the gold bits are stitched on.

"If the measurements were wrong, things would be showing that were not meant to be showing.''

Brown also revealed how rehearsals resembled a creche.

"We were changing diapers in between learning dance routines, feeding baby food between vocal sessions. All five of us brought our kids to rehearsal, so they all got to bond.''

Brown is expected to arrive in Sydney early today on a flight from London to resume her X Factor duties.

X Factor judge is a sensitive Guy

X Factor creator Simon Cowell has lowered the contestant age limit to 14, and has asked judges to use the show to assemble a boy band like pop sensations One Direction.

Asked if 14 is too young for the cut-throat music industry, Brown answered: "If you're talented, why do you have to wait until you're 16 or 18 to be able to be a part of X Factor?

"If it's your passion, why not find out sooner than later.''

Meanwhile, Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte, have bought a boat to further enjoy life in Sydney. They have three children.

She said: "We live a regular lovely family life in Sydney. We take walks to the beach. We are working hard and relax at the same time.''

X Factor screens at 7.30pm tomorrow on Seven.
