US WOMEN are now paying thousands of dollars for illegal injections known as "butt shots" to follow a celebrity trend for abnormally large backsides.

Fuelled by the growing desire to have ?bootylicious? curves like Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, J-Lo and reality TV star Coco Austin, women are risking their lives to undergo the often dangerous procedure.

Curvaceous mum-of-two Vanity Wonder spent around $15,000 over the course of five years, plumping her posterior with injections that are currently banned in America and the UK.

She says she and other women, from "nurses to police officers to gospel singers" were becoming addicted to silicone shots to increase the size of her behind.

?There's no common reason... Some girls get it done only because everyone else is,? the 30-year-old tells the Daily Mail of women who choose to undergo the risky procedure.

?There's a lot of reasons, They [patients] look in the mirror and they don?t like what they see. They want the image they see in the mirror to match the image they have of themselves in their head.?

Stories have flooded the news recently of unqualified ?doctors? injecting their patients with fillers made from anything from soybean oil to Fix-A-Flat tyre sealant and even cement.

Wonder, whose measurements are an astonishing 34-23-45 inches, says there was a dangerous black market developing for derriere cosmetic surgery.

?Instead of paying $14,000 for the doctor, somebody on the street has created a way for women to get a butt at a cheaper price?, she says.

?That's the reason why women are dying. They are so thirsty for these (behinds) they go to whoever they can find. Then people want to exploit this and that's where the problems come in.?

The former exotic dancer began getting ?butt shots? in 2006 and admits that at first, she didn?t know what was being administered during the procedures.

?Now anyone on the corner will inject you with whatever they buy at the Kwik-E-Mart or at the gas station?, Vanity adds.

Wonder has since penned a tell-all book on the dangers of black market cosmetic procedures, titled Shot Girls

The candid book reveals how she became addicted to the silicone shots, and while intended as a warning to women who may be tempted by the black market procedure, Vanity admits many still ask her where they can get them.
