- Madden tweets pic of him back in California "sunshine"
- Left our shores just a day after The Voice wrapped up
- Had spoken at length about moving here permanently
DESPITE constantly proclaiming his love for Australia, Joel Madden has already left our shores - less than 48 hours after The Voice grand finale.
"And just like that I'm back in LA and back in the studio tonight," Madden tweeted after arriving in Los Angeles. "Back to my day job. Thanks Australia I'll come back soon as you invite me.
"It's been a few months since I've been home in America. I feel out of the loop, what have I missed?'' he added.
The Good Charlotte rocker also tweeted an image of himself with the caption: "Guess who?s bizzack in The California sunshine".
His quick departure surprised many fans, given that Madden spoke of his love for Australia and his plans to make a permanent move here.
Seal appears to off, too, and sent his parting Tweet an hour ago.
"@TheVoiceAU @Kariseeden CONGRATULATIONS AUSTRALIA & FAREWELL. Look after your new Queen. I?ll miss ya."
Earlier this year Madden said he and his wife Nicole Richie had been looking at schools in Sydney for their children, daughter, Harlow, aged four, and son Sparrow, two.
It's not known if Madden will return as a coach on The Voice next year. He let slip during a press conference last week that he and the other coaches - Seal, Keith Urban and Delta Goodrem - are yet to sign on for the second series.
Meanwhile, winner Karise Eden is still adjusting to the newfound fame and fortune as winner of the series.
Surviving on about two hours sleep over the past 48 hours, the 19-year-old has understandably been "disoriented" by the whirlwind of media and public interest.
But she says while she was "so overwhelmed" by the experience, she is a lot happier since finding herself in the competition.
"I do feel a lot happier. I can hold my chin up now and know I am OK. People like me," Eden said.
The teenager, who has lived in more than 20 refuges during her life, also praised the protection and guidance of her Voice coach, Seal.
Their bond initially sprang from "being musicians," before they developed into the tight unit which took on the world and won.
"I have always looked at him as a father figure, as a bit of a dad. He's very wise but we still had a lot of laughs. He's my main man," she said.
